Developing Skills. Building Confidence. Elevating the Game.
The SOMD Eliminators Academy is designed for middle school and high school field hockey athletes who are motivated to improve their skills, deepen their understanding of the game, and prepare for higher levels of competition.
Building on the foundation of our recreational and clinic programs, the Academy provides a more advanced, structured training environment where athletes are challenged to grow both individually and as teammates.
Our focus goes beyond basic skill development. Through purposeful instruction, challenging drills, and game-based training, athletes work to become more confident, skilled, and effective players on the field.
The Eliminators Academy emphasizes quality training, individual growth, and long-term player development. Rather than simply running drills, our goal is to help athletes understand how to apply their skills in competitive game situations.
Training focuses on key areas of player development, including:
Advanced Technical Skills: Improving ball control, first touch, passing, receiving, elimination skills, and overall stick work.
Game Awareness & Decision-Making: Learning to read the field, anticipate plays, recognize opportunities, and make quicker, smarter decisions under pressure.
Movement & Positioning: Developing better off-ball movement, spacing, defensive positioning, and overall understanding of team play.
Speed of Play: Increasing the ability to execute skills efficiently and confidently in faster-paced, competitive situations.
Leadership & Teamwork: Building communication, accountability, confidence, and the ability to positively contribute to a team.
Our Academy is intended for middle school and high school athletes who want to invest in their development and challenge themselves to reach the next level.
Athletes may enter the Academy with varying levels of experience, but they should share a willingness to work hard, accept feedback, and push themselves outside their comfort zones.
Whether preparing for high school field hockey, looking to become a stronger contributor to their current team, or aspiring to play at the collegiate level, the Academy provides an opportunity for continued growth.
At SOMD Eliminators, we believe player development is a journey. Our recreational leagues introduce athletes to the game, our clinics help strengthen their foundation, and our Academy provides the next step for players ready for more advanced training.
We recognize that every athlete develops at their own pace. Our goal is not just to create better field hockey players, but to help develop confident, hardworking, coachable athletes who understand the value of teamwork, leadership, and dedication.
The Eliminators Academy is more than additional training. It’s an opportunity for athletes to challenge themselves, elevate their game, and reach their full potential.
