Our Board

For more than a decade, the Eliminators Board of Directors has worked tirelessly to create year-round field hockey opportunities for young athletes ages 4–19 across the tri-county Southern Maryland area. Their dedication to growing the sport has resulted in organized programs that welcome players of every skill level — from brand-new beginners to advanced competitors.

What began as a single travel club team has expanded into a thriving program that now includes an 8-year-strong fall recreational league, providing a foundation that has helped strengthen competition in local Southern Maryland Athletic Conference (SMAC) high schools.

The club is committed to helping athletes reach their goals beyond high school. Many of our players have gone on to play at the collegiate level, with several earning college scholarships thanks to the skills, experience, and exposure gained through our programs.

In addition to league play, the Eliminators host year-round clinics open to the public, giving players the chance to build and sharpen their skills. As a USA Field Hockey–registered club , our most experienced athletes also compete in winter indoor and spring travel tournaments, proudly representing Southern Maryland on a larger stage. All of the Board of Directors are certified USA Field Hockey coaches, as well as many other coaches in our league. Co-Directors Beth Woodburn and Alexis Gray were also both panel speakers at the “Athlete Attraction and Retention” session to the USA Field Hockey Summit in 2019. In 2024, the Eliminators were 1 of 5 teams nominated for the USA Field Hockey Club of the Year.

Together, we remain dedicated to building a strong field hockey community, inspiring the next generation of athletes, and ensuring the sport continues to grow and thrive in Southern Maryland for years to come.

Our Staff and Coaches

Our coaches are volunteers and parents of athletes many with playing or coaching experience in field hockey or other sports. They generously donate their time to guide, instruct, and encourage players. Games are officiated by a combination of Southern Maryland Athletic Conference (SMAC) officials and local high school athletes providing role models for our younger players. All coaches and referees follow USA Field Hockey rules and guidelines and many hold official certifications.
